Choreographer,
Educator,
Dance Artist

Claire Alexander is a choreographer, educator, and creative force who believes movement has the power to connect, inspire, and transform. She thrives on big ideas and bold collaborations—whether it’s creating and executing a site-specific dance festival in the heart of downtown San Jose, throwing a daily 10-minute dance party on Zoom during COVID, or leading a four-cast production of The Sound of Music with 260 young performers.

With over 25 years of experience in dance, theater, and curriculum development, Claire has worked with thousands of students and artists—shaping not just their technique, but their confidence, artistry, and love for the craft. She blends musical theater, jazz, tap, and contemporary styles, always with a deep commitment to storytelling, musicality, and authenticity.

As a creative problem solver, she has walked the path of the tech startup world, blending creativity with innovation in Silicon Valley. She resides in Downtown San Jose with her partner, Scott, and their two old dogs—Homer (17) and Buddy (12).

She also has an archive of handwritten notes from students that she’ll never throw away.
